Of course, I've never made my own raisin pie by the bar cookies I make fairly often. The last time I made them was for a group of high school boys and the comments were "Eat that!" "What is it?" "I don't know but it's good!" I do agree on the whole shocking your taste buds bit. My mom made some little tarts for Christmas that had rum raisin centers.
